Stolen peruvian culture

During 2012, the theft of 602 cultural goods were recorded in 9 peruvian regions, included Lima (capital city) and Cusco (important cultural and touristic destination), representing 60% of the cases.

The theft of paintings, gold objects, silverware, statues, ceramic, garments, among others, are concentrated mostly in religious buildings (86%), even cathedrals. These facts have led the Ministry of Culture to highlight, in the guidelines of action until 2016, the preservation of cultural heritage.

Following are the numbers of the latest cultural thefts (2012), in order to improve surveillance.
